Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in 2016 Fatal Shooting at 6759 Madden
December 5, 2017 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man found at 6759 Madden Lane at about 5 p.m. on December 26, 2016.
The suspect, Mark A. Johnson (b/m, 55), is charged with murder in the 174th State District Court. A photo of Johnson is attached to this news release.
Johnson is accused in the death of Ray Charles Henderson, 61, of Houston, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives D. Williamson and E. Wohlgemuth reported:
Two individuals were working in a field near an abandoned house at the above address when they smelled an odor coming from the house. The two men looked into the house and observed a male (Mr. Henderson) lying face down on the floor. Officers arrived on scene and observed the victim deceased from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
Additional investigation identified Johnson as a suspect in this case and, on September 26, 2017, he was charged in the case. Johnson was arrested today (December 5) by members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders task force without incident.
