Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3400 St. Emanuel Street

August 22, 2017 - A man critically wounded in a shooting at 3400 St. Emanuel Street about 1:10 p.m. on January 9 has died. 

The victim, Sheldon Jackson, 47, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he underwent surgery for his wounds.  Doctors pronounced him deceased on July 15. 

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers S. Spivey and R. Pemberton reported: 

On January 9, HPD South Central patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Mr. Jackson lying in the street with a gunshot wound.  HFD paramedics transported him to the hospital. 

At this time, there are no known suspects.
