Investigation into Fatal Crash at 3900 South Loop West

August 15, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 3900 South Loop West (South Interstate Highway 610 West) about 7:55 p.m. on Monday (August 14).

The identity of the deceased male victim, 38, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer A. Michon reported:

The victim was driving a white Chevrolet Suburban eastbound on the South Loop when he struck a white Isuzu Federal Express box truck disabled in a moving lane of traffic.  The victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The driver of the box truck suffered minor injuries and did not show signs of intoxication.

The investigation is continuing.
