Investigation into Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash at 6600 Homestead Road

April 3, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 6600 Homestead Road about 9:10 p.m. last Friday (March 31).

The male victim, 43, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Salazar and Officer B. Roberts reported:

The victim was walking westbound across the northbound lanes of Homestead Road when he was struck by a pickup truck of unknown make and model.  According to witnesses, the driver of the vehicle stopped briefly, before fleeing the scene.  

The vehicle is described as a maroon, or dark-colored pickup truck with chrome wheels.
