UPDATE: Investigation into Assault at 6767 Long Drive


September 12, 2016 - Houston police have recovered a vehicle involved in an incident in which a woman was critically injured at 6767 Long Drive about 11:05 p.m. on Sunday (September 11).  

The victim, San Juanita Herrera, in her late 30s, suffered lacerations and head trauma and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Horn and Officers S. Jimenez and T. Jackson reported:  

According to a witness, Ms. Herrera was standing near the entrance of an apartment complex at the above address when the driver of a gray Nissan Frontier pickup truck struck her.  The driver then traveled to the rear of the complex entrance, accelerated toward Herrera and struck her a second time.  The driver then put the vehicle in reverse and struck Herrera a third time.  As the driver left the apartment complex, he struck her a fourth time.  

The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male, 50 to 60 years of age.  He was seen in a gray 2000 Nissan Frontier pickup truck with a camper.

Further investigation led officers to the location of the vehicle today (Sept. 12) and it is now being processed for evidence.
