Investigation into Fatal Crash at 700 State Highway 6 South
September 9, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in the 700 block of State Highway 6 South at about 8:45 p.m. on Thursday (Sept. 8).
The identity of the female victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roque and Officer R. Ryan reported:
The driver of a white Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling northbound on Highway 6 when the driver had the green light at Memorial Drive, proceeded through the intersection and struck a pedestrian (victim). The victim had stepped out of the driveway of an Exxon gas station and into the roadway when she was struck. She was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The female driver of the Ford stayed at the scene, was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
