Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 2500 State Highway 6 South
September 6, 2016 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in a fatal crash that occurred at 2500 State Highway 6 South at about 5:30 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 4).
The suspect, Aaron John Dancoe (w/m, 38), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 208th State District Court. A photo of Dancoe is attached to this news release.
The identity of the deceased female victim, 58, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer E. Rubio reported:
Dancoe was driving a gold Chevrolet Malibu northbound on State Highway 6 when he failed to control his speed and struck the rear of a black Suzuki Grand Vitara, stopped at a red light on Highway 6. The Suzuki was then pushed into a gold Toyota Avalon, which then struck a white Toyota Avalon. Dancoe's vehicle then struck a black Chevrolet Tahoe.
The driver of the Suzuki (victim) was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger of the gold Toyota Avalon were transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. Dancoe showed signs of intoxication at the scene, was arrested and subsequently charged.
