Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6500 Gulf Freeway
October 31, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 6500 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday (October 30).
The identity of the female victim, 39, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer E. Morgado reported:
The victim was driving a silver Honda CRV on the Gulf Freeway when she attempted to avoid an accident on the freeway, used a faulty evasive action and failed to maintain a single lane. The Honda then struck the right side concrete retainer wall and went airborne. The vehicle then struck several trees. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
