Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 900 McCarty
October 31, 2016 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in a fatal crash that occurred at 900 McCarty at 1:10 a.m. on Sunday (October 30).
The suspect, Davin O'Neal Jones (b/m, 31) is charged with driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #9. A photo of Jones is attached to this news release.
The identity of the female victim, 50, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Duplechain and Officer D. Robinson reported:
Jones was driving a silver Mercedes E-320 northbound on McCarty when he struck the victim, who was attempting to cross the street not in a crosswalk. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jones remained at the scene. While he was found not to be at-fault in the crash, he was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested at the scene.
