Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 7700 Scott Street
November 7, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 7700 Scott Street about 11:40 p.m. on Saturday (November 5).
The suspect, Eric D. Tart (b/m, 52), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 248th State District Court. A photo of Tart is attached to this news release.
The male victim, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Duplechain and Officer J. Rivera reported:
The victim, in a gray Toyota Camry, was at a stop sign at the intersection of Lockhart. As the victim drove forward into the intersection, the Camry was struck by a gray Infiniti QX56 traveling northbound on Scott Street at a high rate of speed . The driver of the Camry died at the scene. The driver of the Infiniti (Tart) was detained at the scene, determined to be intoxicated, and subsequently arrested and charged.
