Investigation into Shooting at 11601 Kirkwood
November 7, 2016 - Houston police are investigating an incident in which an armed suspect fired shots at a Meadows Place police officer at 11601 Kirkwood about 3:45 a.m. on Saturday (November 5).
The Meadows Place officer was not injured in this incident.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Olive and Officer S. Sylvester reported:
A Meadow Place police officer initiated a traffic stop on a green Pontiac Grand Prix in the 11600 block of Kirkwood. The vehicle pulled to the right and came to a stop. The front seat passenger opened his door and the Meadow Place officer then heard a gunshot. The suspect then exited the vehicle and dropped his weapon on the ground. He quickly picked up the weapon and fled the scene on foot through a nearby apartment complex. The Meadow Place officer, who was not injured, did not return fire.
The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody. He is identified as Rontrell Da Loudres (b/m, 22) and was charged with possession of marijuana in Harris County Criminal Court #13.
The investigation is continuing.
