Investigation into Fatal Crash at 13400 Almeda Road
May 17, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 13400 Almeda Road about 11:50 p.m. on Monday (May 16).
The identity of the male victim, 36, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roque and Officer P. Pham reported:
Witnesses reported the suspect was driving a brown Toyota Avalon northbound on Almeda Road at a high rate of speed. He ran several red lights before failing to maintain a single lane and striking a white Ford F-250 pickup truck at the intersection of Almeda Road and West Fuqua. The Avalon's driver died at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
