Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 6900 Scott Street
May 13, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 6900 Scott Street about 10:35 a.m. on Thursday (May 12).
At this time, the suspect, Joshua Denagelo Myles (b/m, 27), is charged with evading arrest/detention in the 262nd State District Court, with the possibility of charges being upgraded. A photo of suspect Myles is attached to this news release.
The male victim, 61, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he later died. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. A second victim, a female passenger, 47, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Hall and Officer R. Veal reported:
Myles fled from police in a silver GMC Envoy, which was reported stolen. During the pursuit, Myles ran the red light at the intersection of Scott Street and Yellowstone. At that time, Myers struck a white Nissan Versa traveling westbound on Yellowstone, and then a black Kia Soul stopped at a red light southbound on Scott. Myles then exited the Envoy and fled on foot. He was taken into custody a short distance from the accident scene. The male and female in the Versa were transported to the hospital, where doctors pronounced the male deceased about 10 p.m. on Thursday (May 12). The female driver of the KIA was not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
