Fatal Crash Investigation at 10000 Gulf Freeway
May 2, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 10000 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 5:55 a.m. on Sunday (May 1).
The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer L. Ho reported:
The victim was driving a black BMW 740i southbound on the Gulf Freeway at the above address when, for unknown reasons, she failed to maintain a single lane and drove into the grassy area between the freeway and the service road. The vehicle continued until it struck the concrete base of a light pole. Paramedics pronounced the driver dead at the scene. No other persons or vehicles were involved in the crash.
