Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5200 South Loop East
March 15, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 5200 South Loop (South Interstate Highway 610) about 10:50 p.m. on Monday (March 14).
The identity of the female victim, 37, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Rossman and Officer J. Baker reported:
The victim was driving a blue Chevrolet Malibu westbound on the 610 South Loop when she failed to maintain a single lane and left the roadway. The vehicle entered a grassy median, struck a tree and continued on and across the service road. It came to a rest after striking a chain link fence on private property. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
