Investigation into Fatal Crash at 16000 Katy Freeway
March 14, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 16000 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 6 a.m. on Saturday (March 12).
The identity of the male victim, 36, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer N. Luu reported:
The driver of a black Lexus ES 350 was traveling westbound on the Katy Freeway at the above address. As he was exiting the freeway, the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a pole. The victim, a passenger, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he later was pronounced dead. The male driver, 37, was questioned and released with no charges filed at this time.
The investigation is continuing.
