Investigation into Death at 4738 Teton
June 28, 2016 - The investigation into the death of a female following a fire that occurred at 4798 Teton is pending autopsy results by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The victim, Helen Joyce Mitchell, 74, of the above address was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N. Ruland and Officer J. Saldana reported:
A witness was driving in the 4700 block of Teton when he saw smoke coming from the residence at the above address. The witness stopped and ran into the house where he found the home owner, Mr. Mitchell, overcome by smoke. The witness then dragged Mr. Mitchell out of the house and both the witness and Mr. Mitchell were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. Ms. Mitchell was unable to escape the residence and was found deceased inside a bedroom in the house.
