Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 8722 Richmond
June 16, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 8722 Richmond about 11:35 p.m. on Tuesday (June 14).
The suspect, Abdul-Rahman Khan (w/m, 21), is charged with murder in the 338th State District Court. A photo of Khan is not available at this time.
The victim, Peter Pina, 33, of Richmond, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Simmons and Officer M. Arroyo reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the Electric Chair Tattoo Shop at the above address. Upon arrival, they found a witness and patron detaining a man suspected of shooting Mr. Pina.
Further investigation determined the suspect, Khan, had entered a restricted area of the shop and was told repeatedly by Pina to return to the front of the establishment. As Khan was being escorted to the front by a witness, he produced a gun and shot Pina. The witness and patron then kept the suspect at the scene until officers arrived.
There is no known prior association between Pina and Khan.
