Investigation into Fatal Crash at 500 Aldine Bender
June 16, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 500 Aldine Bender about 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday (June 15).
The male victim, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer S. Kong reported:
The victim was operating a black Yamaha motorcycle eastbound at the above address when the driver of a black Ford Focus failed to yield the right of way when leaving a stop sign. The Focus' driver entered Aldine Bender in front of the motorcyclist, causing the motorcycle to strike the driver's side of the Focus. The driver of the Focus was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. An examination by an HPD DWI Task Force officer showed no signs of impairment on the driver.
There are no charges at this time. The investigation is continuing.
