Investigation into Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash at 2200 San Jacinto
June 13, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 2200 San Jacinto about 12:15 a.m. on Saturday (June 11).
The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roque and Officer R. Singleton reported:
A witness reported seeing the victim lying in a moving lane of traffic at the above address. A short time later, he observed a white BMW four-door sedan strike the victim and then stop a short distance down the road. The driver, described only as a white male, got out of his vehicle, looked at his car, and then fled the scene.
Officers stated the victim, who was homeless, was found lying in the middle of the roadway on several other occasions.
