Investigation in to Woman's Death at 1307 West Sam Houston Parkway
June 8, 2016 - Houston police are investigating the death of a woman and apparent attempted suicide of a man that occurred at 1307 West Sam Houston Parkway North about 4:05 p.m. on Tuesday (June 7).
The woman, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity and cause of death are pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The male suspect suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.
HPD Homicide Division Officers K. Ferguson and R. Ridel reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a suspicious event call at the Palace Inn Motel at the above address. Officers found the room barricaded and were unable to enter through the door. An employee of the motel then broke a window and officers entered the room. The female victim was found on the bed deceased. The suspect was found lying next to her and he was immediately transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital.
The investigation is continuing.
