Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1200 South Post Oak Lane
June 1, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1200 South Post Oak Lane about 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday (May 31).
The male victim, 28, was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roque and Officer A. Hart reported:
The victim was operating a black Yamaha motorcycle northbound on South Post Oak and attempted to pass a blue Ford Escape traveling in the same direction. The Escape then made a left turn at the intersection of Longmont and was struck by the motorcycle. HFD paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital. The driver of the Escape, 19, remained at the scene. He was determined not to be impaired and was released.
The investigation is continuing.
