Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5300 Southwind
July 5, 2016 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman found at 5300 Southwind about 10 a.m. on Sunday (July 3).
The victim, in her late 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity and manner of death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Officer M. Perez reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a person down call at the above address and found the victim in a ditch. HFD personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the woman deceased. Further investigation developed information that a dark-colored sedan of unknown make and model stopped in the area about 1:30 a.m. and then left the area a short time later.
