Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2700 Southwest Freeway
July 26, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 2700 Southwest Freeway (South U. S. Highway 59) about 6 a.m. today (July 26).
The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer D. Henley reported:
The victim was walking in the main lanes of the Southwest Freeway, failed to yield the right of way to vehicles and was struck by a blue Ford Expedition. The victim died at the scene. The driver of the Expedition, who was determined not to be impaired, was questioned and released.
