Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 7200 Cook Road
July 22, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal hit-and-run crash at 7200 Cook Road about 8:45 p.m. on Thursday (July 21).
The suspect, Nancy Carolina Campos (w/f, 24), is charged with failure to stop and render aid in the 208th State District Court. A photo of Campos is attached to this news release.
The identity of the female victim, 82, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Kopulos and Officer J. Rivera reported:
Campos was driving a white Nissan pickup truck southbound on Cook Road when her truck struck a pedestrian (victim) crossing the street. Campos then fled the scene. Officers located the truck at Campos' residence. She was detained for questioning and subsequently charged in the crash.
