UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 5300 Southwind
July 19, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman found at 5300 Southwind about 10 a.m. on July 3.
The suspect, Leroy Stoots (b/m, 43), is charged with murder in the 248th State District Court for his role in the killing of Kumba Sesay, 31.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Officer M. Perez reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a person down call at the above address and found the victim in a ditch. HFD personnel responded to the scene and pronounced the woman, Ms. Sesay, deceased.
It was learned that a dark-colored sedan of unknown make and model stopped in the area about 1:30 a.m. and then left the area a short time later.
Further investigation developed Stoots as the suspect in this case and he was arrested by members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force on Monday (July 18) without incident.
