Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5700 North Freeway
January 29, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at 5700 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 3:50 a.m. today (January 29).
The male victim, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roque and Officer J. Jorsch, Jr. reported:
The victim was believed to be walking on or near the North Freeway service road when he was struck by a vehicle of unknown make or model. Witnesses reported hearing a loud noise and saw the victim had been struck by the vehicle. The vehicle did not stop and fled the scene.
