Investigation into Shooting Incident at 3100 Anita
January 19, 2016 - Houston police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted in the shooting of an HPD officer at 3100 Anita about 3 p.m. last Wednesday (Jan. 13).
The officer, K. Fregia, was treated for a gunshot wound to his right leg and released from Memorial Hermann Hospital hours later. Officer Fregia, assigned to the South Central Patrol Division, was sworn in as an officer in June 2009.
HPD Homicide Division Officers C. Sharp and M. Arrington reported:
Officer Fregia was standing next to a marked HPD patrol car at the above address when he was shot by an unknown suspect. The officer had assisted the Narcotics Division execute a warrant at the location. No officers discharged their weapons.
