Fatal Crash at 4000 South Loop West
February 29, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 4000 South Loop West (South Interstate Highway 610) about 11:50 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 27).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Thomas and Officer Y. Haq reported:
A white Ford Expedition was traveling west on the 610 South Loop service road near Stella Link and took the entrance ramp to the freeway. As the vehicle was entering onto the freeway, it struck a male pedestrian (victim) attempting to run across a moving lane of traffic. The driver of the Ford stopped and attempted to perform CPR on the victim. Paramedics pronounced the male dead at the scene. The driver was questioned and released.
