Investigation into Fatal Crash at 4100 Gulf Freeway
February 23, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic crash at 4100 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 5:30 a.m. today.
The male victim, 66, was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer J. Perrotte reported:
The victim was driving a black Jeep Wrangler northbound on the Gulf Freeway when he failed to maintain a single lane, drove onto the shoulder of the Scott Street exit and then onto the concrete retention wall. No damage was caused to the vehicle. Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital. It is believed he might have suffered a medical episode.
The investigation is continuing.
