Investigation into Fatal Crash at 513 Sunnyside
February 16, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 513 Sunnyside about 10:55 p.m. on Monday (February 15).
The male driver, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roque and Officer B. Collins reported:
HPD North Patrol officers were pursuing a 2005 dark-colored GMC Envoy traveling at a high rate of speed that refused to stop in the 500 block of Sunnyside. The driver (suspect) then lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree in front of a residence at 513 Sunnyside. The driver died at the scene. A male passenger was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
