Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1100 Wheeler
December 29, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 1100 Wheeler about 6:35 a.m. on Wednesday (December 28).
The identity of the male victim, 55, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer J. Glenn reported:
The driver of a maroon Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling westbound on Wheeler when he struck a pedestrian (victim) who was walking southbound on Wheeler. The victim was transported by HFD paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died. The driver of the Ford, who remained at the scene, was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
