Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 5800 Lockwood
December 5, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at 5800 Lockwoood at about 2:40 a.m. on Saturday (December 3).
The suspect, Josefina M. Rivera (H/f, 37), is charged with failure to stop and render aid in the 180th State District Court. A photo of Rivera is attached to this news release.
The identity of the male victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roque and Officer J. Hill reported:
Rivera was driving a white Toyota Camry northbound on Lockwood when she struck the victim attempting to cross the street. Rivera then fled the scene and returned approximately one hour later and admitted to her role in the fatal crash. She was arrested at the scene without further incident.
