Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Stabbing at 8600 Mesa
August 18, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 8600 Mesa about 11:30 a.m. on August 11.
The suspect, Raymond Gonzales (H/m, 54), is charged with murder in the 338th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Francisco Zamarripa, 41, who was pronounced deceased at Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant S. Murdock and Senior Police Officer B. Evans reported:
Mr. Zamarripa and two other males were sitting on a sidewalk in front of a business at the above address when a fourth male, known only as "El Guero," rode up on a bicycle and began arguing with Zamarripa. The suspect then stabbed Zamarripa and fled. Zamarripa then went to a nearby gas station to ask for help and was subsequently taken to the hospital.
Further investigation identified Gonzales as the suspect in this case. He was arrested on Sunday (August 14) and subsequently charged for his role in Zamarripas' death.
