Suspeect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 3722 Merrick
August 1, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman that occurred at 3722 Merrick about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday (July 30).
The suspect, Zachary Stuart Landrum (w/m, 41), is charged with murder in the 228th State District Court. A photo of Landrum is not available for release at this time.
The victim, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Officers A. Vinogradov, T. Richardson and B. Thomas reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a welfare check call at the above address and found the victim deceased inside her residence. She had been shot.
Further investigation identified Landrum as a family member of the victim and the suspect in this case. He was taken into custody near the residence and subsequently charged.
