Investigation into Fatal Crash at 11900 Almeda Road
September 30, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 11900 Almeda Road about 10:25 p.m. on Tuesday (September 29).
The male victim, 46, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roberts and Officer B. Roberts reported:
The female driver of a black Honda Civic was traveling southbound on Almeda Road. The victim was crossing the street in the crosswalk at the intersection of West Airport when he was struck by the Honda. The victim was then taken by HFD paramedics to the hospital. The driver of the Honda, who remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication.
It has not been determined at this time who had the right of way at the intersection.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
