Investigation into Fatal Traffic Crash at 5700 MLK Boulevard
September 18, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5700 Martin Luther King Boulevard about 9:35 a.m. today (Sept. 18).
The male victim, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer T. Fowls reported:
The victim was driving a red Ford F-250 pickup truck northbound at the above address when he ran a red light and struck a Toyota Prius turning left from Griggs Road to go southbound on MLK Boulevard. The Ford then struck a fence and METRORail electrical pole. The Prius driver was uninjured.
The investigation is continuing.
