Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6400 Westpark
October 5, 2015 -Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6400 Westpark that occurred about 7:35 p.m. on Sunday (October 4).
The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Thomas and Officer R. Bymaster reported:
A gray Toyota Yaris was traveling northbound on 14th Street when the driver ran the red light while turning west onto Westpark. A white Chevrolet Malibu, traveling eastbound on Westpark, had the green light and struck the Yaris as it entered the intersection. The Yaris was also struck by a white Dodge Ram pickup truck also traveling eastbound on Westpark. The driver of the Yaris was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in an unknown condition. The passenger of the Yaris was transported to Memorial Hermann hospital where she was pronounced dead. The female driver of the Malibu and the female driver of the Dodge Ram were both transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital for minor injuries.
No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is continuing.
