Investigation into Shooting at 2420 Sumpter
November 5, 2015 - The shooting of a man at 2420 Sumpter about 10:50 a.m. on Wednesday (November 4) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.The male suspect was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.
The male shooter, 66, was not injured in the incident.
HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer S. Spivey and Officer W. Huff reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a residence at the above address. Officers arrived and found a male lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. The male homeowner told police the male was climbing over a fence to get into his back yard. The homeowner stated he feared for his life and shot the male.
