May 21, 2015 - Houston police are investigating the apparent suicide of an HPD officer found at 16451 Westheimer Parkway about 1:50 p.m. on Wednesday (May 20).

The victim is identified as Jason E. Angeli, a senior police officer assigned to the Burglary and Theft Division at the Westside Police Station.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Hassig and Senior Police Officer S. Spivey reported:

Officers responded to a report of a person down inside a vehicle at the above address and observed a male deceased in the driver's seat, the result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The man was identified as a 16-year veteran HPD officer.  Official autopsy results are pending.
