May 6, 2015 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a juvenile at 8900 Burl that occured about 2 a.m. today (May 6).
The identity of the victim, 16, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Coleman and Officer T. Tyler reported:
The victim borrowed his father's 2007 black GMC Yukon, called a friend and told him he would pick him up. While the friend waited outside his residence, he heard a gunshot and then saw a white 4-door sedan speeding past his house. Five minutes later, the friend saw a black Yukon speeding past the residence. Believing this was the victim, the friend called the victim but did not get an answer. The friend then went back inside his residence. Later, the friend was awakened by acquaintances who stated the victim was found lying in the 8900 block of Burl. The Yukon was found about 6:30 a.m. abandoned in a wooded area near the 8200 block of Snowden.
The unknown suspects are described only as two males, one of them described as a black male, driving a white sedan.
