June 23, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 10000 La Porte Freeway (State Highway 225 West) about 1 p.m. on Monday (June 22).

The male victim, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Vanderbull and Officer B. Clark reported:

The victim was driving a black tractor-trailer truck westbound on the La Porte Freeway and failed to stay in his lane. The truck left the roadway and struck a gas pipeline on the service road. At this time, investigators believe the driver possibly suffered a medical episode prior to the accident, since the driver had no signs of trauma to his body from the collision.

The investigation is continuing.
