June 5, 2015 - The fatal shooting of a man at 5615 Leeland about 8:05 p.m. on Thursday (June 4) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The victim, 18, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending notification to family memebrs by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers R. Ridel and G. Sullivan reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found the victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

Due to evidence at the scene and witness statements, the shooting appears to be accidental.
