Investigation into Incident at 1504 Taub Loop
July 20, 2015 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man that occurred at 1504 Taub Loop about 5 a.m. on Sunday (July 19).
The male, Felix Ybarra, II (H/m, 32), was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Hassis and Officer T. Ferguson reported:
Ybarra was arrested for evading arrest on foot early Saturday (July 18) evening and was booked into the HPD Central Jail at 61 Riesner in a cell with multiple inmates. At the time of his booking, Ybarra had no known injuries or medical conditions. On Sunday, at approximately 3:40 a.m., inmates in the cell notified jail personnel that Ybarra was having an unknown medical emergency. He was then transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5 a.m. Autopsy and toxicology results are pending examination by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
As is customary in in-custody deaths, this incident is being investigated by the HPD Homicide and Internal Affairs Divisions.
