Investigation into Remains Found at 4800 Scenic Drive
July 24, 2015 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results on skeletal remains discovered at 4800 Scenic Drive about 10 a.m. on Thursday (July 23).
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Elsbury and Senior Police Officer R. Martinez reported:
An HPD helicopter officer observed a vehicle partially submerged in Sims Bayou at the above address. Members of the HPD Dive Team recovered the vehicle and discovered skeletal remains inside. The vehicle's license plate was linked to a missing persons report filed on May 19.
At this time, there is no indication of foul play in this case. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is conducting an autopsy to determine the identity of the individual, as well as the approximate date and cause of death.
