February 25, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 8500 Eastex Freeway (U.S. Highway 59 North) about 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday (February 24).

The male victim, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant T. Trometer and Officer A. Hart reported:

The victim was driving a silver Honda Ridgeline pickup truck at a high rate of speed southbound on the Eastex Freeway. The driver failed to control his speed and the vehicle left the roadway. The pickup then crossed the service road and flipped. The driver was ejected and died at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in this accident.
