Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Stabbing at 9002 Sterlingshire
February 20, 2015 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a woman at 9002 Sterlingshire about 12:30 p.m. on Thursday (February 19).
The suspect, Victor L. Williams, (b/m, 39), is charged with murder in the 180th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of his girlfriend, Sherry McFarland, 26 of the above address. Ms. McFarland was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris , Senior Police Officer M. Waters II and Officer W. Gilbert reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to report of a possible murder/suicide in-progress at the above address after a family member of the suspect called 9-1-1. Officers arrived, entered apartment #2002 and found McFarland deceased inside a closet. A preliminary investigation determined Williams had contacted family members by phone and admitted to killing his girlfriend. He was last seen leaving the area on a bicycle.
Responding HPD officers immediately set up a perimeter and found the bicycle Williams used. With assistance from HPD K-9, Williams was located in the attic of an abandoned house in the 9800 block of Lum. He was taken into custody without further incident. He then admitted to killing his girlfriend and was subsequently charged.
