Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5500 East Freeway
August 21, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at 5500 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) about 11:20 p.m. on Thursday (August 20).
The male victim, 55, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at St. Joseph's Medical Center. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Rossman and Officer M. Serafine reported:
The victim was walking on the Lockwood exit ramp off the East Freeway when he was struck by a vehicle of unknown make or model. The driver did not stop.
At this time, there are no known witnesses.
