Investigation into Fatal Crash at 4900 Yarwell
August 11, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 4900 Yarwell about 8:50 a.m. on Saturday (August 8).
The female victim, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer E. Morgado reported:
The victim was driving a silver Hyundai Accent eastbound at a high rate of speed in the 4900 block of Yarwell when she disregarded a stop sign, failed to drive in a single lane, and struck a concrete wall. She died at the scene. A male passenger, 17, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
