April 23, 2015 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman found at 8100 Maplecrest about 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday (April 22).  

The victim, Ha Tran, 40, of the above address, was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she was pronounced dead.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant S. Murdock and Senior Police Officer B. Evans reported:  

Ms. Tran was parking her van at the above location when she was confronted by a male suspect who demanded Tran's money and cell phone, and then shot her.  Tran was then taken by HFD paramedics to the hospital.  

The suspect is described only as a black male in his their early 20s, with a red cap and a black shirt.  He was last seen in a white, four-door sedan.
